Mary and her husband Michael moved to Loveland from Illinois August 1, 2013.  Mary and Michael have adopted two of their granddaughters, Marie, age 9 and Lilly, age 7.  Marie and Lilly attend Namaqua Elementary School in Loveland. Mary received a degree in Sociology from Missouri State University, formally, Southwest Missouri State University in Springfield, Missouri.  Mary’s career years included 23 years with Developmental Disabilities Resource Center in Lakewood, CO providing services and supports to families, children, and adults who have a developmental disability.  She supervised case managers at Lambs Farm, a facility for adults with a developmental disability, in Libertyvile, IL. She worked 6 ½ years for Girl Scouts, Illinois Crossroads Council coordinating volunteers, delivering girl programs and grant writing.  Mary’s volunteer experiences included teaching Sunday School, 20 years of leadership and coordinating volunteers of a religious program for girls, surveying rehabilitation facilities for accreditation with CARF (Commission for Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilitations) and board member and grant writer/fund developer for City of Miracles International.    Mary is excited about reaching out to other grand families raising grandchildren and giving support and encouragement to others who have taken on the task of raising grandchildren.  She is happy to follow up on any potential leads that result in obtaining funds for Grand Family Coalition, Inc. Mary's passion and compassion is for grandparents raising grandchildren and parents who have lost children through death.
